Culture-Building Projects

Concepts like employee engagement, change, and teamwork are challenging to define, agree upon, act on, measure, manage, and improve. That’s why our work emphasizes the notion of making these concepts as visible as possible. We encourage the development of plans, scorecards, maps, and other visuals because they are so crucial to building and sustaining a strong workplace culture.

Building a plan: With organizations that want to achieve serious improvement, we guide an on-site development process to define the vision, goals, actions, timelines, responsibilities, measures, and more. Everything is documented as the process unfolds. We bring our expertise to the table and build learning into the front end, but this is a co-creative process in which everyone in the group shapes the final product. The result is a practical plan for all to see and work from. The plan then serves as a combination road map, instruction manual, and progress tracker.

Meaningful scorecards: Other times our work has a narrower scope. For example, we help organizations develop meaningful measures and scorecards to track progress and outcomes relating to engagement, teamwork, resilience, and other big intangibles. The scorecard provides an ever-visible reality check, encouraging people to keep their eyes on whatever they’re trying to improve, no matter how “touchy-feely” it might be.

Practical visuals: We also guide groups in creating maps and other visuals so they can better understand their current situation as it relates to those human-capital intangibles. These maps make situations more visible, leading to a clearer understanding that can then be used to establish on-target goals and action plans.

Other projects: Conducting a learning-needs assessment, developing a plan to strengthen the workplace culture, transforming a process, and developing and implementing a customer survey.
